1800kVA Stamford alternator flown out in 2 days

Received following message:

“Please expedite quote for alternator, we need it urgently, the vessel need to get back to sea.

The repair of her one will take 8 weeks and we cannot afford to have her lying alongside.

I know I can depend on you, please check for recon and new alternators.”

Quite an expectation, but where others see difficulties we see challenges. Alternator required was a double frequency unit of 1800kVA. We were happy to meet client expectations when we could offer an alternator Stamford PM734 E2, which was available to fly in 2 days. We have prepared the unit for transport and despite the weight of almost 4 tonnes the alternator was flown out to the shipyard. Vessel was able to go back to sea several weeks earlier than initially expected.
